Method for More Accurate Location of the Electrical Center of the Swing in Asynchronous Operation

The effect of the length of a transmission line and the state of the shunt reactor on the location of the electrical center of the swing is determined. Mathematical formulas that allow more accurate location of the electrical center of the swing from the measured minimum impedance are proposed. The effectiveness of an equivalent Π-circuit and a distributed-parameter equivalent circuit in calculating the location of the electrical center of the swing is analyzed mathematically.
