The Influence of the Chirkeysky Reservoir on the Electrical Parameters of Rocks

Based on the analysis of the results from long-term observations by using the dipole electric sounding method of the Chirkeysky reservoir area, a decrease in the apparent resistance of the earth’s crust in the reservoir bed area by several times related to the process of its flooding is determined. On the basis of the geoelectric mathematical model, a filtration mechanism is proposed to explain the decrease in the apparent resistivity of rocks. The water layer capacity and rock filtration coefficient are established.
