<p>We aim to understand the role of mangroves in helping coastal communities recover, evaluate their vulnerability index, and identify main adaptation strategies. Questionnaire data were collected from 224 randomly selected households in the Ouidah district, including salt producers, fish smokers, and market gardeners, because they depend on activities related to mangroves. In data analysis, we used descriptive statistics and the household livelihood vulnerability index (LVI). The χ² test examined the relationship between perceived ecosystem services and specific localities. Results identified eleven mangrove ecosystem services in Ouidah, with perceptions varying across localities (<i>p</i>-value &lt; 0.05). Significant differences in perceptions were found in services such as firewood provision, spiritual support, and tourism. The vulnerability index (0.071) indicates a low to moderate overall vulnerability, which increases in areas where mangroves are more degraded. This highlights the critical importance of mangrove conservation in reducing climate vulnerability. Sustainable management strategies that balance economic activities—like salt production—with conservation are essential for enhancing stakeholders’ resilience to climate change impacts.</p>
