<p>Phylogenetic analysis to recognize morphologically diagnosable lineages in&#xa0;<i>Trigonella</i> section <i>Ellipticae</i> has not been undertaken. This has impeded the much needed revisionary work in this section since delimitation of species has not been clearly defined. In this study, we present additional morphologic and phylogenetic diversity in <i>Trigonella</i> section <i>Ellipticae</i> useful for carrying out future taxonomic revisions in this section. The findings highlight that, in addition to floral characteristics, legume sutures and legume apex can be recognition as additional structural traits with taxonomic potential in sect. <i>Ellipticae</i>.</p>

摘要
