<p>The improvement of oilseed crops and their adaptability to changing environmental conditions is essential for effective crop development. This study introduces a new mustard cultivar, “Cholistani Raya” (BRJ-1304) developed by the Regional Agricultural Research Institute Bahawalpur-Pakistan. Released in 2023, this cultivar is suitable for both arid and irrigated areas. The Cholistani Raya was developed using selection breeding methods. It underwent testing in various yield trials, including primarily, regular, and advance yield trials (A, B and C trials) at the Regional agricultural research institute, Pakistan. Additionally, it was evaluated in micro yield trials (MYT) across eight different agro-ecological conditions, and national uniform mustard yield trials were conducted at 11 different sites. To assess its agronomic performance, trials were carried out at four different sowing dates, and fertilizer evaluation was conducted using 11 different fertilizer combinations. From 2018 to 2021, the strain was tested for resistance to <i>Alternaria</i> blight, white rust of crucifer, and aphids. The newly released mustard cultivar demonstrated superior performance across various agro-climatic regions of, achieving a 2.3 and 15% increase in grain yield compared to check cultivars. Cholistani Raya is characterized by a short growth duration and long silique length, containing 13–16 seeds per silique. The 1000-seed weight ranges from 4.7 to 5.4&#xa0;g. The cultivar shows resistance to alternaria blight (resistant) and white rust (highly resistant), with a yield potential of 3014&#xa0;kg/ha The seeds contain 38.11% oil and have a glucosinolate concentration of 82.14&#xa0;µmol/g in the seed meal. Biochemical oil analysis reveals that it consists of 22.62% oleic acid, 17.66% linoleic acid, and 31.47% erucic acid, with a glucosinolate concentration of 82.14&#xa0;µmol/g. Due to its early maturing characteristics, this cultivar is well-suited for crop rotations like wheat-legumes-cotton and wheat-fodder-brassica-sugarcane.</p>
