<p>This study analyzes the spatial spillover effect of forest ecosystem services (FES) on the tourism economy (TE) to reveal the cross-regional realization mechanism of ecological value. Using panel data from the Yangtze River Economic Belt (2011–2022), a spatial durbin model (SDM) with spatiotemporal fixed effects is constructed. Empirical results showed significant spatial agglomeration for both systems (Moran’s I &gt; 0.37). Notably, the spatial spillover effect of FES on TE (0.4287) was significant and approximately 2.13 times larger than the local direct effect (0.2016). This indicated that traditional models ignoring spatial interactions severely underestimated the economic contribution of conservation. These findings provide a quantifiable, scientific basis for establishing horizontal ecological compensation mechanisms. They suggest that those who benefit downstream should compensate those who preserve the environment upstream.</p>
