<p>This paper examines the contributions and challenges faced by the Kosovo Albanian diaspora in supporting their homeland, focusing on the distinct experiences of those residing in Europe and the United States. Using Kuznetsov’s Diaspora Impact Hierarchy (2013) as a theoretical framework, the study explores how evolving contexts have shaped diaspora engagement over time. Migration from Kosovo to developed countries began in the 1960s, progressing through distinct phases that influenced the nature of their contributions. Drawing on biographical interviews conducted with migrants in the European Union (2014–2016) and the United States (2023–2024), the findings reveal the diaspora’s steadfast commitment to Kosovo’s development. Regional factors play a critical role in shaping their approaches: diaspora members in Europe primarily engage in short-term initiatives, while those in the United States focus on long-term, strategic contributions. This study highlights the interplay between geographical proximity, individual motivations, and structural opportunities in fostering sustainable development in Kosovo.</p>
