Antibacterial Medical Bandage Material
摘要
Bandage material with antimicrobial properties was developed using methods for modification by a low-pressure cold-plasma flux and treatment with a solution of colloidal silver nanoparticles, which allowed a targeted change of its surface properties, increased adhesion and sorption characteristics, and improved physical and mechanical properties of the bandages. Microbiological analyses of samples using Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and the degree of their growth inhibition indicated that an antibacterial effect of the studied material was not observed relative to control samples. Medical bandage material modified beforehand by a low-pressure cold-plasma flux and treatment with a silver solution had antibacterial activity against both microorganisms because of an increased sorption effect of the metal nanoparticles.
