Influence of an Acidic Comonomer on the Properties of Polyacrylonitrile Fibers Produced by the DMF Method

The influence of acidic comonomers on the properties of fibers of acrylonitrile and methacrylate tercopolymers with 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid or itaconic acid was comparatively analyzed. The optimum content of acidic comonomers in the tercopolymer structures could range from 1.0 to 1.7 wt% to produce textile fibers; from 0.7 to 1.5 wt%, if itaconic acid was used as the acidic third comonomer.
