<p>Results from comparative studies of the effect of bicomponent fibers on the deformation properties of nonwoven fillers for springless mattresses were presented. Staple fibers of poly(ethylene terephthalate) and poly(trimethylene terephthalate) were investigated. The binders were regular and eccentric bicomponent fibers. Use of fibers of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) as the main component of a thermally bonded nonwoven material and an eccentric bicomponent increased the deformation properties and elasticity of the filler, which surpassed the properties of analogs based on urethane foams.</p>
