Ion-Plasma Pretreatment of Novolac Phenolformaldehyde and Polyester Fibrous Systems

Features of ion-plasma pretreatment of novolac phenol-formaldehyde and polyester fibrous systems are examined. The fabrics Kynol (from novolac phenol-formaldehyde fiber) and lavsan (from polyester fiber) were selected for the study. The fibrous systems were pretreated with low-temperature Ar plasma at power 400 W for 10 min at pressure 5·10-5 mbar. The hydrophobic-hydrophilic balance of the surfaces of the fibrous systems was investigated. The fabrics were tested for structural changes and physicomechanical characteristics caused by pretreatment with the low-temperature plasma.
