摘要

This study examined the perceptions of student teachers on student-centred learning (SCL) after their teaching practicum. Qualitative interviews were conducted with 15 student teachers. Using thematic analysis, 12 themes were identified and categorised. Findings revealed that student teachers had a multi-faceted understanding of SCL. Although student teachers recognised the use and benefits of SCL, they faced challenges in time constraints during lesson preparation, considerations for students’ profiles, overcoming practical issues during lesson implementation and meeting curricular expectations. The provision of social support and informational resources were two means that could be strengthened during initial teacher education and in schools to encourage the implementation of SCL further.
