<p>Industrial architectural heritage plays an important role in large industrial cities. However, as urban industrial structures are adjusted, many factories face closure or relocation. This results in old industrial buildings becoming disconnected from urban life. To address this issue, this study proposes an industrial architectural heritage renewal strategy that is community-oriented and based on spatial organization and pedestrian flow nodes. The strategy aims to protect heritage and promote community integration by emphasizing the continuity of industrial culture, spatial organization, functional layout, factory structure, and the integration of pedestrian flow nodes. The results indicated that satisfaction levels for spatial organization in office study areas (3.7) and pedestrian flow nodes (3.6) was below the satisfactory threshold of 4.0, while other renovation aspects scored above 4.0. In terms of renovation effectiveness, aspects such as spatial organization wholeness, communal functional layout, structural adaptability, pedestrian flow nodes for daily life, urban integration, and cultural continuity all received scores above 8.5, with urban integration scoring as high as 9.5. The above results indicate that the proposed community-oriented renewal strategy effectively enhances the functionality of factory buildings, strengthens their connection with the community, and preserves cultural heritage. This strategy provides new design directions for the renewal of industrial heritage and offers important theoretical and practical value for urban renewal and cultural heritage protection.</p>
