<p>Brazil's wholesale food markets (CEASAs) are central to the national supply of fresh fruits and vegetables, yet their performance varies widely due to infrastructure disparities and climate risks. Existing studies analyze trade volumes, logistics, or climate risk in isolation. Addressing this gap is crucial for informed territorial planning and effective food security policy. This study addresses the lack of empirical analyses integrating commercialization, logistical, financial, and spatial data with climate indicators. A panel of 28 CEASAs covering four produce groups was assembled from 2017 to 2022. A three-step methodological framework was employed: Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to identify underlying patterns, cluster analysis to classify operational profiles, and spatial analysis to measure exposure to droughts and extreme rainfall events. Three CEASA clusters were identified: Proximity, characterized by short supply chains and moderate flow; Commercialization, featuring high volumes and financial throughput; and Distance, which relies on long-haul logistics and is more exposed to climate hazards. Markets in the North and Northeast face greater climate vulnerability and infrastructure challenges, while those in the Southeast benefit from better logistical efficiency. This research contributes by integrating empirical marketing data with geospatial climate indicators to develop a reproducible typology and vulnerability index. These findings provide actionable insights for public policies, encouraging regional approaches that prioritize infrastructure investments, strengthen adaptive capacity, and promote regional food-security resilience in perishable food supply chains.</p> Graphical Abstract <p></p>
