Study on the spatio-temporal variation and trade-off/synergy relationship of ecosystem service value in Western Hubei based on dynamic equivalent method
摘要
The Western Hubei region, rich in natural resources, holds high ecosystem service value but faces increasing ecological challenges due to modernization, threatening sustainable development. This research applied a dynamic-equivalence approach to valuing ecosystem services, the geographically weighted regression model, and the ecological contribution rate model to assess the spatio-temporal variation of ecosystem service value (ESV) and the trade-off/synergy relationships among ecosystem services from 2000 to 2020. Results indicate that the overall ESV rose from 414.603 to 447.305 billion CNY, with forestland, water bodies, and cultivated land contributing most, and hydrological regulation and climate regulation being the highest-valued services. Spatially, ESV was lowest in the northeast and highest in the southwest, corresponding to land use types: low values in cultivated and construction land, medium in forest land, and high in water bodies. The main drivers of ESV growth were “cultivated land–forest land” and “cultivated land–water body” conversions, whereas “forest land–cultivated land” and “water body–cultivated land” changes caused declines. Interactions among services were predominantly synergistic. Region-specific strategies are recommended to enhance ecological conservation and restoration, thereby safeguarding ecological security and promoting sustainable development.
