<p>This study is the first attempt to evaluate the determinants of AATs using separate quantitative models with a gender perspective based on cross-sectional data from six regions of Sindh province, Pakistan (<i>n</i> = 576). Poisson regression and Multivariate probit models were employed to identify the determinants of adoption of AATs. The Poisson regression analysis found that education attainment, youth involvement in farming, innovation propensity, awareness of AATs adoption risk, access to agricultural media, access to microfinance, and research region (Badin) were significant determinants for male-headed farmers. In contrast, chronic diseases, innovation propensity, trust in AATs providers, and research regions (Thatta and Badin) significantly influenced the adoption of AATs by female-headed farmers. Further analysis using the MVP model confirmed the consistency of the results, demonstrating that the findings are robust and reliable. The research suggests that policymakers should focus on increasing agricultural finance and with a gender-equal approach to support the adoption of AATs. By ensuring both farmers (male and female-headed), have access to these resources, agricultural productivity can be improved, leading to better food security and health outcomes. This, in turn, can reduce rural poverty and contribute to broader national development.</p>
