摘要

Customized information feedback (CIF) motivates individuals to engage in pro-environmental behavior and can promote individual behavior modification effectively. This study aims to provide an understanding of CIF and pro-environmental behavior based on qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including theoretical foundations, experimental design, information delivery methods, and influencing factors. Based on previous literature, this study defines CIF clearly for the first time. We found that customization is necessary to explore the possibility of pre-use CIF to encourage pro-environmental behavior. Confusion remains regarding the effects of the previous simultaneous combined CIF studies. Recognizing the pure effects of a single CIF facilitates the explanation of the combined CIF that generates confounding effects. Significantly, study design factors (e.g., sample, target behavior, and information delivery methods) and situational factors may influence the robustness of CIF effects, resulting in inconsistent results. This systematic review lays the groundwork for future CIF studies, including theoretical analysis and research directions.
