<p>The global discussion around Sustainable Development Goal 11, focusing on cities becoming resilient and sustainable, is intrinsically connected to sustainable land use planning. However, this discourse concerning sustainability in land use planning is multifaceted and closely intertwined with the broader sustainable development concepts and effective planning. Nevertheless, sustainability concepts within land use planning often appear paradoxical, nebulous, and unclear. Dwelling largely on literature review, this paper contributes significantly to the existing studies in two fundamental ways, though in the Ghana context. Firstly, it offers an innovative perspective on the conceptualization of sustainable land use planning. It presents sustainable land use planning as comprising two distinct dialogues that can be harmonized through decision consequence analyses and the integration of Geospatial Technologies within contemporary planning practices. It posits Sustainable Land Use Planning as an ongoing, cyclical, and iterative process encompassing the allocation of land for various purposes within localized regulatory frameworks, effective land administration systems, and adherence to Sustainable Development Concepts. This process is executed, implemented, and monitored by competent professionals utilizing modern geospatial technologies. Secondly, this paper places sustainable land use planning in the broader sustainable community development context.</p>
