摘要

Artificial intelligence (AI), as the core engine of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, has revitalized the drive for green innovation. This study investigates the complex impacts of artificial intelligence on innovative green technologies using panel data from 100 cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt between 2011 and 2020. According to the study, AI considerably raises the degree of innovation that is environmentally friendly in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, with regional and city size having an impact. Industrial agglomeration is a key mechanism through which AI improves green innovation levels. Further analysis reveals significant threshold effects of digital inclusive finance and information in AI-driven green innovation. Furthermore, a more thorough investigation shows that AI significantly boosts green innovation through favorable spatial spillover effects. These findings enhance the understanding of AI's role in green innovation and provide empirical evidence for regional green innovation development.
