Evaluation and driving factors of resilience level of food system in three major functional zones of China

摘要

Against the backdrop of deepening globalization, increasingly severe climate change, and increasing frequency of various “black swan” and “gray rhinoceros” events, the importance of resilience in the food system is becoming increasingly prominent. This article uses panel data from 31 provinces in China from 2013 to 2022 to construct a resilience index system for the food system. The entropy method and geographic detector are used to analyze the level, spatiotemporal evolution characteristics, and influencing factors of resilience in different food functional areas in China. The main conclusions are as follows: from 2013 to 2022, China’s main food producing areas, main sales areas, and production sales balance areas all achieved an increase in resilience level. In terms of different sub dimensions, there are differences in the changes of different functional areas. In terms of spatiotemporal evolution characteristics, from 2013 to 2022, the resilience of the food system in different functional areas of China has increased, and the changes in different provinces are clearly visible. In terms of influencing factors, unit food yield, multiple cropping index, rural primary industry personnel, and agricultural mechanization level are the main influencing factors on the resilience level of the food system in different functional areas of China. The interaction between each influencing factor is mainly dual factor enhancement and non-linear enhancement.
