摘要

The increased water security challenges have driven Integrated Urban Water Management to attain considerable attention in practical and theoretical water management areas. The process focuses on planning, managing, and maintaining the water sector in urban communities while considering the entire urban cycle to provide inclusive, resilient, and sustainable water access. This study employ the systematic review and critically examines urban water management approaches and models, focusing on their development, application, decision-making, optimizing water management strategies and effectiveness in addressing contemporary urban water challenges. The review also criticises the importance of IUWM over other approaches for developing resilient, sustainable, and liveable neighbourhoods. The paper attempts to offer a thorough grasp of urban water management. The study found that these approaches are viable solutions wherever there is a contextual implementation. The paper concludes up by highlighting the need for further research to better understand the effectiveness of IUWM by acknowledging efficient management methods and solutions for local contexts supporting integrated approach.
