摘要

This paper investigates the impact of digital inclusive finance on individual health using data from the China Household Finance Survey (CHFS) for the years 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. The study employs panel data fixed-effects models to analyze the relationship between digital financial inclusion and health outcomes, controlling for potential endogeneity and conducting robustness checks. The results demonstrate a positive association between digital inclusive finance and individual health, with the depth of digital financial service usage identified as a significant contributor to health improvements. The analysis further uncovers several mechanisms through which digital financial inclusion enhances health: by increasing income levels, reducing the need for precautionary savings, and stimulating healthcare consumption and insurance purchases. Heterogeneity analyses highlight the pronounced effects of digital inclusive finance on health among rural residents and economically disadvantaged groups, including the less affluent, the elderly, and those with lower levels of education. The study concludes with policy implications that emphasize the importance of integrating healthcare services within digital financial inclusion initiatives, particularly for vulnerable populations, to foster a more equitable and robust healthcare system.
