<p><i>Xiphinema thailandicum</i> n. sp. recovered from the rhizosphere of <i>Platycerium</i> plants and an unidentified plant imported from Thailand are described here. The new species was characterized by a relatively short and stout body (L = 1.3–1.6&#xa0;mm, a = 20.0–33.0); total stylet length of 176–206&#xa0;µm; mono-opisthodelphic reproductive system without the anterior gonad; anteriorly situated vulva (V = 31.7%–37.0%); short tail (36.0–51.2&#xa0;µm); conoid, convex dorsal part with a 17.0–25.9&#xa0;µm long peg at the terminus; and three juvenile developmental stages with no males. The new species belonges to the <i>Xiphinema</i> non-<i>americanum</i> group morphospecies 1 and has the following specific diagnostic alphanumeric codes (the code in parentheses is an exception): A1, B4, C5a, D(4)5, E23, F12, G23, H2, I2, J-, K2, and L1. It was morphologically similar to <i>X. bambusi</i>, <i>X. bhutanense</i>, <i>X. brasiliense</i>, <i>X</i>. <i>digicaudatum</i>, and <i>X</i>. <i>hunaniense</i> mainly due to the short conoid tail and terminal peg. Molecular phylogenetic analyses based on partial 18S, 28S-D2-D3 and ITS rRNA genes showed that the new species forms a distinct, well-supported clade closely related to <i>X. brasiliense</i> and <i>X. ensiculiferum</i>. The new species exhibits sequence divergence of 0.47% from <i>X</i>. <i>ensiculiferum</i>, 0.29%-0.47% from <i>X</i>. <i>brasiliense</i> for the 18S rRNA gene, 1.97%-2.47% from <i>X</i>. <i>brasiliense</i> for the 28S-D2-D3 rRNA gene, and 6.31%-9.27% from <i>X</i>. <i>brasiliense</i> for the ITS rRNA gene, respectively. These findings support its identity as a distinct species using integrative taxonomy combining morphological and molecular data.</p>
