Assume <i>p</i> is an odd prime number. By showing certain quadratic norm form equations having no integral points, we obtain a universal result on the nonexistence of GBFs with type <InlineEquation ID="IEq3"> <InlineMediaObject> <ImageObject Color="BlackWhite" FileRef="10623_2025_1606_Article_IEq3.gif" Format="GIF" Height="19" Rendition="HTML" Resolution="72" Type="Linedraw" Width="50" /> </InlineMediaObject> <EquationSource Format="TEX">\([n, 2p^e]\)</EquationSource> <EquationSource Format="MATHML"><math> <mrow> <mo stretchy="false">[</mo> <mi>n</mi> <mo>,</mo> <mn>2</mn> <msup> <mi>p</mi> <mi>e</mi> </msup> <mo stretchy="false">]</mo> </mrow> </math></EquationSource> </InlineEquation> when <i>p</i> and <i>n</i> satisfy a certain inequality, and by computational methods with a widely accepted hypothesis, Generalized Riemann Hypothesis, we also achieve some results on the nonexistence of GBFs for relatively small <i>p</i>.</p>

Nonexistence of generalized bent functions and the quadratic norm form equations

摘要

We present a new result on the nonexistence of generalized bent functions (GBFs) from \((\mathbb {Z}/t\mathbb {Z})^n\) ( Z / t Z ) n to \(\mathbb {Z}/t\mathbb {Z}\) Z / t Z (called type [nt]) for a large class. Assume p is an odd prime number. By showing certain quadratic norm form equations having no integral points, we obtain a universal result on the nonexistence of GBFs with type \([n, 2p^e]\) [ n , 2 p e ] when p and n satisfy a certain inequality, and by computational methods with a widely accepted hypothesis, Generalized Riemann Hypothesis, we also achieve some results on the nonexistence of GBFs for relatively small p.
