<p>A new amide, swietamide (<b>1</b>), along with ten known compounds, including 4-hydroxy-4-methylpentan-2-one (diacetone alcohol) (<b>2</b>), 1-triacontanol (<b>3</b>), swietenine (<b>4</b>), swietenine acetate (<b>5</b>), swietenolide (<b>6</b>), methyl caffeate (<b>7</b>), syringaldehyde (<b>8</b>), 3′,4′,5′-trimethoxycinnamyl alcohol (<b>9</b>), apigenin (<b>10</b>), and kaempferol (<b>11</b>) were isolated from the seeds of <i>Swietenia macrophylla</i> (Meliaceae). The structure of the new butanamide derivative (<b>1</b>) was elucidated by physical evidence.</p>
