<p>A new cyclohexa-1,3-dien-1-ol, cinnakanehirainol (2,4,6,6-tetra-methylcyclohexa-1,3-dien-1-ol) (<b>1</b>) as well as eight known compounds were isolated from the roots of <i>Cinnamomum kanehirai</i> Hayata (Lauraceae). The structure of the new constituent was essentially elucidated by spectral evidence.</p>
