<p>Phenylethanoid glycosides <b>1</b> and <b>2</b> containing a malonic acid moiety on glucopyranose C-2′ were isolated from the herb of <i>Leonurus deminutus</i> V. I. Krecz. (Lamiaceae). The compounds were 1′-<i>O</i>-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-ethyl-2′-<i>O</i>-malonyl-3′-<i>O</i>-<i>α</i>-L-rhamnopyranosyl-4′-<i>O</i>-caffeyl <i>β</i>-D-glucopyranoside (deminutoside A, <b>1</b>) and 1′-<i>O</i>-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-ethyl-2′-<i>O</i>-malonyl-3′-<i>O</i>-(2′′-<i>O</i>-<i>α</i>-L-arabinopyranosyl)-<i>α</i>-L-rhamnopyranosyl-4′-<i>O</i>-caffeyl <i>β</i>-D-glucopyranoside (deminutoside B, <b>2</b>) according to UV and NMR spectroscopic and mass spectrometric data. Both compounds have been detected in 11 other <i>Leonurus</i> species in the subgenera Cardiaca and Cardiochilum. Studies of the biological activity showed that <b>1</b> and <b>2</b> possessed antiradical activity.</p>

Phenylethanoid glycosides 1 and 2 containing a malonic acid moiety on glucopyranose C-2′ were isolated from the herb of Leonurus deminutus V. I. Krecz. (Lamiaceae).
