<p>Reactions of <i>N</i>-deacetyllappaconitine (<b>2</b>) with ethanesulfonyl chloride and chloroacetyl chloride under various conditions were studied. The optimal conditions for the reactions were found. The structures of the obtained compounds were established using IR and NMR spectroscopy and an X-ray crystal structure analysis (XSA). Two crystalline polymorphic forms of the ethanesulfonamide derivative of lappaconitine that grew from MeOH and CHCl<sub>3</sub> were studied by XSAs.</p>
