A New Lasiodiplodin Derivative from a Marine Fungus Aspergillus clavatus R7

A new lasiodiplodin derivative, lasiodiplodin ether (1), along with three known compounds, barceloneic acid A (2), pestalotiopyrone D (3), and 6-hydroxymellein (4), were isolated from the marine fungus Aspergillus clavatus R7. The structure of compound 1 was deduced by analysis of comprehensive spectra. Compound 1 showed strong antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum, which was equal to triadimefon, and moderate antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (serotypes O6 and O78). Compounds 2 and 3 showed a slightly lesser antifungal effect against Colletotrichum musae than triadimefon.
