Effective Oxidative Synthesis of (-)-Nopinone from (+)-Myrtenal
摘要
A simple and effective synthetic method for (–)-nopinone via oxidation of (+)-myrtenal by oxone in DMF to form 6,6-dimethylbicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-en-2-yl formate was proposed. Subsequent hydrolysis of the formate under basic conditions formed nopinone in preparative yields of 61–67%.
