New Cyclomucidoside C from Astragalus mucidus

A new cycloartane-type triterpene glycoside that was called cyclomucidoside C was isolated from the aerial part of the plant Astragalus mucidus Bunge. Its chemical structure was elucidated based on ¹H and ¹³C NMR spectral data (COSY, HSQC, HMBC). Studies of extracts of A. mucidus and cyclomucidoside C did not show antibacterial activity against the three strains Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
