摘要

Metal-coated textiles are transforming modern industries due to their unique combination of flexibility, conductivity, and multifunctionality. This review provides an in-depth analysis of recent advancements in manufacturing techniques such as sputtering, vapor deposition (including chemical vapor deposition, CVD), electroplating, and electroless plating. We highlight the strengths and limitations of each method, focusing on their suitability for different textile substrates. Key characterization techniques are discussed, including assessments of coating quality, composition, structural integrity, and electrical performance. This review uncovers how metal coatings enhance textile properties like electrical conductivity, thermal reflectivity, and electromagnetic shielding, with specific insights into how these improvements impact real-world applications. Examples include wearable electronics for healthcare monitoring, heat-reflective and EMI-shielding textiles in aerospace, interactive smart garments in fashion, conductive fabrics in automotive safety systems, advanced sensors, and energy-efficient supercapacitors. We also discuss current challenges, particularly regarding durability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness, and propose strategies to address these issues, including innovations in sustainable coating methods. By exploring both the technological advancements and environmental considerations, this review underscores the pivotal role of metal-coated textiles in driving future innovations across multiple industries.
