Estimation of the Time to Failure Distribution Function in a Highly Reliable N –1-Out-of-N: G Repairable System in the Case of Exponential Distributions of the Uptime Intervals of All Alternating Processes

The authors provide quantitative estimates for the convergence rate of the time-to-failure distribution function to an exponential function in a highly reliable N – 1-out-of-N: G repairable system on the assumption that the uptime intervals of all the alternating renewal processes are exponentially distributed. The guaranteed time of failure-free operation of this system is estimated.
