Influence of Dispersion Medium on the Rheological Properties of Greases Based on Alkaline Thickeners
摘要
The paper presents the results of experimental studies on the influence of dispersion medium parameters, represented by various mineral and synthetic oils, on the properties of greases. The greases under study contain thickeners based on three types of detergent and dispersant additives: calcium sulfonates, alkyl salicylates, and alkyl phenolates. Despite the high content of the thickener in the grease (over 60–72%), the influence of the base oil remains critical. The proper selection of dispersion medium in combination with the most appropriate thickener and additive package enables the development of high-quality greases with a wide range of operating temperatures.
