<p>A new catalytic system was developed based on an acidic Y-type zeolite-containing support modified with sodium tetrachloroferrate as an active catalytic electrophilic component added in the amount of 15 wt %. This catalytic system, based on inorganic sodium and iron chlorides, exhibits high activity and efficiency in the thermal catalytic cracking of straight-run fuel oil, producing light gaseous hydrocarbons and liquid hydrocarbons of various structures, both isomeric and aromatic hydrocarbons. The use of this metal-complex catalytic system under the relatively mild temperature conditions of catalytic cracking allows for increased recovery of light petroleum products.</p>
