Icing of Hydrophobic Silica Coatings on Metal Substrates
摘要
Hydrophobic coatings produced by self-assembly of silica microparticles with simultaneous grafting of hydrophobic groups significantly change surface wetting by water. An important problem is resistance of such coatings to repeated icing. In this work, a study was conducted on the resistance of coatings to multicycle freezing/thawing under a water layer and an assessment was made of the adhesion strength of an ice layer formed on the coating.
