An electromechanical shutter for a medical copper vapor laser system

An electromechanical shutter for medical laser devices was developed for copper (and copper bromide) vapor medical laser system to provide a minimum exposure time of 20 msec and a repetition rate of up to 10 Hz. The shutter was tested during 1,000,000 pulses as a component of the Yakhroma-Med pulsed copper vapor medical laser, which has been registered with the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for the treatment of vascular, pigmented, and colorless defects of the skin and mucous membranes. To ensure accuracy in processing exposure durations, a correction for shutter opening and closing times was introduced into the laser device software.
