<p>Blueberry cultivation in Taiwan has increased in recent years because of its increasing value. However, chilli thrips (<i>Scirtothrips dorsalis</i>) has emerged as a major blueberry pest that damages leaves, shoots, petals, and developing fruits. Since oil-based sprays may affect pollination and fruit appearance, more environmentally friendly alternatives are needed. In this study, the effectiveness of six entomopathogenic fungi (EPFs) against chilli thrips was evaluated by bioassay and greenhouse cultivation methods. Among the isolates, <i>Cordyceps cateniannulata</i>-NCHU-213 (Cc-NCHU-213) exhibited the highest virulence, with 72.5% mortality at seven&#xa0;days post-inoculation (dpi), and this isolate was selected for further trials. Laboratory bioassays revealed a dose-dependent effect on second-instar larvae, with mortality rates ranging from 19.4 to 75.5% at concentrations ranging from 10⁶ to 10⁹ conidia ml<sup>−1</sup>. In the life stage susceptibility test, adult thrips were the most susceptible, with 97.9% mortality at 7 dpi and the lowest LT₅₀ value of 4.57&#xa0;days. Greenhouse trials of blueberry plants confirmed the effectiveness of Cc-NCHU-213. After the first treatment, the number of thrips significantly decreased, with a control rate of 61.9%, and the value decreased further after the second treatment, with control rates of 77.7% and 73.8% at seven and 14&#xa0;days, respectively. These findings suggest that Cc-NCHU-213 causes high thrips mortality under laboratory conditions and maintains the sustained suppression of thrips populations in greenhouse trials. These results further indicate that Cc-NCHU-213 exhibits great potential as a biocontrol agent in integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for blueberry cultivation in Taiwan.</p>
