<p>Diterpenoid alkaloid 12-epinapelline N-oxide exhibited pronounced anxiolytic activity comparable to that of phenazepam in the open field and elevated plus maze tests. Unlike the benzodiazepine anxiolytic, course administration of the alkaloid did not cause cognitive impairment in experimental animals.</p>

Diterpenoid alkaloid 12-epinapelline N-oxide exhibited pronounced anxiolytic activity comparable to that of phenazepam in the open field and elevated plus maze tests.
