Expression of IL-1β in the Left-Ventricular Myocardium of Rats with Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus and Its Combination with Arterial Hypertension
摘要
In this study, we evaluated the level of proinflammatory cytokine IL-1β in left-ventricular myocardium of rats with arterial hypertension at different periods, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, and a combination of these conditions. We found that IL-1β expression in the left ventricle was significantly increased in isolated diabetes mellitus, 57-week arterial hypertension, and combination of 38-week arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus. In the group with 38-week arterial hypertension, IL-1β expression also exceeded the control level (normotensive rats), but the shifts were less pronounced. Increased IL-1β production in the myocardium can be considered a mechanism triggering inflammatory programmed death (pyroptosis) of cardiomyocytes.
