<p>Optimal parameters of low-intensity laser radiation (LILR) in the infrared range for stimulation of the angiogenesis mechanisms in the gingival mucosa were determined in an experiment on rats. Following exposure of rat gingival mucosa to laser radiation at a wavelength of 970 nm and a power of 0.5 W, a significant increase in the number of mast cells expressing VEGFR1, endothelial cells of blood vessels expressing CD34 receptor, as well as an increase in the diameter and area occupied of blood vessels were noted. These data and the obtained strong correlations (<i>r</i> = 0.75-0.97; <i>p</i> &lt; 0.05) indicate stimulation of angiogenesis mechanisms involving mast cells and endothelial cells of blood vessels in rat gingival mucosa. The obtained results may be in demand in the development of methods of laser therapy of periodontal diseases in clinical practice.</p>
