摘要

The expression of lysyl oxidase (LOX) was assessed using immunohistochemical staining in tissue samples from the postequatorial region of the choroid and uveal melanoma obtained from human eyes enucleated for medical reasons (n = 15). It was found that LOX expression was higher in the tumor tissue. Significantly increased density of blood vessels was observed in the intratumoral region compared to the postequatorial region of the choroid. Elevated LOX expression can be associated with the formation of small blood vessels in the tumor, likely due to angiogenesis activation in human uveal melanoma.
