<p>Blockchain technology (BT) has garnered growing interest in corporate governance and operations research. In particular, BT has the potential to improve the adaptability, transparency, and efficiency of textile enterprises’ operations and supply-chains. However, there has been very little research focused on identifying the key challenges (KCs) and success factors (SFs) for successful implementation of BT in the textile sector. In this context, our research has been conducted to pinpoint the KCs and SFs related to the adoption of BT in the textile industry of an emerging economy. For this, the multi-criteria decision-making approach, specifically an integrated approach of decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory and analytic network process is employed. A total of 31 respondents participated in this study whereas four semi-structured interviews were carried out, and 27 responses were gathered from an online questionnaire survey. The participants, who included experts with diverse industry experience such as executives, managers, directors, and academic professionals, contributed to identifying key criteria (KCs) and SFs for business transformation implementation. Drawing on TOE framework and empirical data, the findings indicated a variety of KCs that hinders implementation of BT in the textile sector. The most significant challenges to BT implementation in the textile industry are immutable (technological), lack of organizational regulations (organizational), and cultural variation (environmental). Like KCs, the emerged findings also revealed that the most significant SFs to BT implementation in the textile industry are risk and security management (technological), top management support (organizational), and government law and policy (environmental). Theoretically, this study extends and contributes to the newly emerging research stream of blockchain implementation with regard to an emerging economy’s textile operation and supply-chains by connecting it to the application of TOE framework. From a managerial perspective, the findings offer several key implications for decision-makers in the textile supply industry who oversee strategic planning related to the integration of BT into their supply-chains.</p>
