<p>Climate-resilient agroforestry in Mediterranean drylands increasingly requires multipurpose tree species capable of simultaneously providing wood products and forage-related biomass in low-input production systems. The objective of this study was to characterize growth performance, wood properties, leaf nutritional composition, and in vitro fermentability of <i>Paulownia</i> ‘Shan Tong’. Twenty trees from a rainfed plantation cultivated in semi-arid region of Tunisia were assassed for growth performance, wood properties, leaf chemical composition, and in vitro fermentability to evaluate traits potentially relevant to multifunctional agroforestry applications. The wood exhibited relatively low density and moderate mechanical resistance, consistent with juvenile growth under rainfed low-input management, while maintaining favorable dimensional stability for potential lightweight applications. Leaf composition indicated nutritional characteristics compatible with supplementary feeding potential for small ruminants. Fermentation profiles varied between inoculum sources in the present study, suggesting possible differences in ruminal fermentation behavior. Methane-related variables remained within ranges commonly reported for Mediterranean browse resources. The substantial foliage biomass produced in the semi-arid environment studied suggests potential relevance for forage diversification strategies in Mediterranean farming systems. Overall, the findings provide preliminary evidence supporting further evaluation of <i>Paulownia</i> ‘Shan Tong’ as a multifunctional tree resource for Mediterranean agroforestry systems. However, broader recommendations require replicated multi-site studies, in vivo nutritional validation, and economic assessment under practical production conditions.</p>
