<p>Species of the genus <i>Baccaurea</i>—underutilized fruit trees native to Southeast Asia—offer considerable potential for both biodiversity conservation and rural livelihoods. Despite their presence in traditional land-use systems, their ecological roles, utilization patterns, and sustainable management within multifunctional landscapes in West Sulawesi remain poorly understood. This study aimed to: (1) document the diversity of <i>Baccaurea</i> species; (2) evaluate their ecological and ethnobotanical significance; and (3) identify key challenges and opportunities for their sustainable cultivation. Field surveys and ethnobotanical interviews were conducted across home gardens, mixed-tree agroforestry, and forest-based systems in the Mamasa and Mamuju Regencies. Three species were identified: <i>Baccaurea lanceolata</i>, <i>B. costulata</i>, and <i>B. racemosa</i>. Among them, <i>B. lanceolata</i> had the highest Relative Frequency of Citation (RFC = 0.78) and was widely used to treat coughs and skin ailments. While 42% of respondents cited commercial potential as a motivation for cultivation, 27% emphasized medicinal uses. However, barriers such as limited market access and scarcity of planting material were pervasive. Notably, no significant correlation was found between cultivation interest and perceived constraints (<i>p = </i>0.2), indicating systemic barriers. The findings highlight the need for integrated conservation strategies, phytochemical validation, and improved value chains to promote <i>Baccaurea</i> as a culturally and ecologically valuable component of sustainable agroforestry development in Indonesia.</p>
