As mental health paradigms continue to evolve toward holistic and person-centered care, spiritually oriented counselling has gained prominence for its capacity to address not only symptoms of distress but also deeper concerns related to meaning, identity, and transcendence. By responding to psychological, emotional, and existential challenges in an integrated manner, this approach offers a comprehensive framework for healing. This study explores the integration of spirituality into counselling practices through a bibliometric analysis combined with the Context–Intervention–Mechanism–Outcome (CIMO) framework, a structured approach that examines how specific interventions (I), applied within particular contexts (C), through underlying mechanisms (M), produce desirable outcomes (O). The bibliometric analysis identified five major thematic clusters within the existing literature: (1) existential challenges and the role of spiritual counselling in resilience and survivorship, (2) attitudes, education, and professional competence, (3) spiritual care for emotional well-being, (4) adolescents, grief, and pastoral counselling, and (5) psychological healing through spiritual coping strategies. Using the CIMO framework, this study further outlines effective interventions such as spiritual narrative therapy, client-centered therapy, mindfulness, and prayer therapy. These practices are shown to enhance therapeutic outcomes by promoting resilience, meaning-making, and adaptive coping mechanisms. Furthermore, the study also identified a significant gap in counselor education, with many professionals reporting limited preparedness to address clients’ spiritual concerns.

摘要
