<p>This study explored the psychometric characteristics of the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item screener (GAD-7) scores for a Mexican earthquake survivor sample of 319 community members who completed a linguistically and culturally adapted Mexican dialect Spanish measure of the GAD-7. The Mexican sample scores yielded a unidimensional factor structure with mostly excellent fit statistics. Strong measurement invariance was noted across Mexican dialect Spanish speaking males and females. GAD-7 total scale alphas were ≥ 0.90 across the total sample and subsamples. The GAD-7 is a free, quick, and easy to administer instrument for use by counselors to screen for generalized anxiety.</p>
