摘要

Regardless of the initial severity of the illness, many people still suffer from the long-term sequelae of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which often result in significant limitations in daily life and a reduced quality of life. As basically any organ system can be affected, over 200 different symptoms have been described. Due to the lack of a single diagnostic test for long COVID, ruling out other somatic or psychological causes is essential. Until now, long COVID is still a diagnosis by exclusion. Treatment is primarily symptom-oriented and involves interdisciplinary collaboration. Particularly in cases of initially severe illness, there is often a need for outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation measures with a multimodal approach. Adequate infection prophylaxis as well as vaccination against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) can reduce the risk of long-term sequelae.
