摘要

Avulsion injuries of the pelvic muscles cause significant time-loss injuries, especially among adolescent soccer players. I report the case of an avulsion fracture of the anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) with associated significant inflammation visualized by MRI and superb microvascular imaging (SMI) Doppler ultrasonography in a 15-year-old soccer player. Regenerative treatment consisted of six combined sessions of radial pressure wave with novel burst mode (Storz Masterpuls Icon), focused extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), and extracorporeal magnetotransduction therapy (EMTT). As early as 1 week after the first combined session, a 50% reduction in inflammation was noted with SMI Doppler ultrasound, with resolution of the normal tendon insertion at 6 weeks and return to playing soccer. Combining radial pressure waves, ESWT, and EMTT in apophysitis with apophysiolysis in adolescent athletes is a reasonable regenerative noninvasive option.
