<p>This News/Kyoto Commitment article introduces the ICL-UNESCO new initiative for global promotion of understanding and reducing landslide disaster risk. The International Consortium on Landslides (ICL) launched the ICL Open Access Book Series “Progress in Landslide Research and Technology,” which is now indexed in Scopus as a common global platform for the publication of recent progress in landslide research and technology for practical applications and the benefit for the society contributing to the Kyoto Landslide Commitment 2020 to continue to 2030 and beyond, as it addresses the adverse effects of climate change. The ICL Open Access Book Series “P-LRT” has received immediate high interest and attention across the globe, with more than 600,000 accesses in two years after launching the founding issue in January 2023. The UNESCO Disaster Risk Reduction Unit in collaboration with the ICL has developed Keyword Mapping and Network Visualization containing all articles published in the P-LRT. The article concisely reviews some recent global landslide networks/panel discussions/mapping/database and the relevant features of Keyword Mapping and Network Visualization to globally promote the understanding and reducing landslide disaster risk.</p>
